Partnership between the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Cleveland Metroparks, the old Ohio Canal Corridor. The Ohio & Erie Canal of the 1830’s provides the blueprint for the modern Towpath Trail that extends from Cleveland to about 65 miles south. The Towpath Trail project connects Canal Basin Park with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The Towpath Trail uses the Cuyahoga River to negotiate its way thru the industrial portion of the Valley.
